New Hampshire Downloadable Books: For Readers

A Guide to New Hampshire Downloadable Books for eBook and Audiobook Users

About New Hampshire Downloadable Books

New Hampshire Downloadable Books was formed in 2006 as a downloadable audiobook service with 20 public library members. Over the years, the service has grown to include 200 New Hampshire public libraries and has expanded to offer eBooks and digital magazines, as well as the digital audiobooks.

The collection is comprised of:

  • 17,000 unique eBook titles
  • 13,000 unique audiobook titles
  • 3000 digital magazine titles

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the New Hampshire State Library.

The Role of NH State Library

The New Hampshire State Library manages the eBook, audiobook, and digital magazine service on behalf of the state's participating public libraries. The State Library does not directly provide patron access to the digital service. Patrons are encouraged to visit their local New Hampshire public library to obtain a library card, seek in-person assistance, and request items to be added to the digital collection.
